Anything Goes – Auditions and Key Dates

ALL ABOARD! The Summer Theatre Program is ready to set sail on the SS American and we hope you’ll join us this summer!

Auditions

Auditions will be Monday, May 12 (6:30-9 PM) and Sunday, May 18 (12:30-4 PM). You do NOT need to attend both days; pick the one that works best for you.

Callbacks will be Wednesday, May 21 (6-9 PM).

While we prefer to see you in-person, we will also accept video submissions if you cannot attend either audition date. To audition by video, email a video of you singing for one minute to info@summertheatreprogram.org. The deadline for video submissions is Monday, May 19 at 6 PM.

Auditions and callbacks will all be at Saint Bernadette School, located at 7602 Old Keene Mill Road, Springfield, VA 22152. The school building is located behind the church. Please enter using Door 2 (the gym), and follow signs to the cafeteria to check in.

Key Production Dates

On your audition form, we will ask about any conflicts, so please check your summer calendar.

In particular, these are key dates for our production this summer:

  • Sat. July 19 (evening) – Ticket Sales Weekend
  • Sun. July 20 (all day) – Ticket Sales Weekend
  • Mon. July 28 (evening) – Tech Week
  • Tues. July 29 (evening) – Tech Week
  • Wed. July 30 (evening) – Tech Week
  • Thurs. July 31 (evening) – Performance
  • Fri. Aug 1 (evening) – Performance
  • Sat. Aug 2 (all day) – Matinee and Evening Performances
  • Sun. Aug 3 (all day) – Strike
  • Sun. Aug 3 (evening) – Cast Party

Rehearsals and ticket sales will take place at Saint Bernadette. Starting July 28, we’ll move to Bishop Ireton High School for tech week, performances, and strike.

      Summer Theatre Program

      We are a ministry co-sponsored by Saint Bernadette Catholic Church in Springfield, Virginia and Bishop Ireton High School in Alexandria, Virginia. Every summer, we offer high school students of all skills, abilities, and experience levels the opportunity to be part of a theatrical production. As they work together, the students become a community and develop a deep trust, confidence, and abiding joy that carries over into daily life. Since our first show in 1997, STP has become a hallmark of the region’s programming for high school youth.
